The European Ways, room 60, Brisbane, 2012

During a two-month-stay in Australia (Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane), Katrin Ströbel worked about the historical and contemporary traces of migration in the Australian society, influenced by different “streams” of people moving to Australia from the 18th century until today, and the
swapping, overlaying and clash of tourism and migration as two very different movements in Australia´s everyday life. Also, she worked on the concept of "wilderness", domesticated or artificial nature and botanic gardens as colonial landmarks.
